I am not comfortable anymore posting in that "Colonel Sun" fora, "On the Nature of Things"

Not only that I do not like CS (neither his mindset nor his style), but also I do not find lots of topics he propagates as appealing for me, like "Beautiful Woman" and quite a few other threads .. and .. my senses are, neither he and his friends, much interested in subjects of interest to me

so, Tinker

I would like to continue posting here, posting subjects that interest me and I am ready to spend my time on

Not many readers and posters might participate .. and it's OK with me .. but those who will post and participate, I hope, will ensure a "quality" debate

I'm sorry but I disagree with the issue. I don't view that thread because I have no business as a married man (with a jealous Italiana wife) looking at those lovely ladies. We're not forced to view threads in which we have no interest. I trust those folks to not put kiddie porn at either fora. Hell, in this place Rhapsody put an actual porn picture (the fake Palin one) and no one blinked an eye! I almost never returned because if my wife had been in the room when I opened that thread, I'd have had a fight that was not my fault.

My advice is avoid that thread. Avoid discussions with posters you have issues with. I (try to) do that with one particular poster (not saying I dislike him, just that it is pointless as I don't try to "win" arguments on these boards, as much as simply have a discussion, and he's all about "winning.").

On the specific case of the picture you objected to last week, I'd say you were wrong (based on the history with CS at Spengler's getting banned for the false accusation of posting child pictures) to insinuate it was a minor. Why? Because it's hard to know in today's world how old a woman is. I've seen women who I was sure were no more than 16 turn out to be 24. Remember the actress from the movie Juno a couple of years ago? It was depicted as a 16-year old, with an actress in her twenties portraying (convincingly) the part. Not too mention the image in question last week as a Japanese woman...not to be a stereotyping racist or anything, but I couldn't guess a Japanese girl in her 15-25 range if I tried. Point being, with how sensitive anyone is to being a pedophile (or even worse, being accused of being one when you're not), lacking evidence, as CS said in the PM, it isn't really right to bring it up in the first place. I hope banning isn't used though. I like the entire lineup of posters!

Now, as to the rudeness, which you say is based on a dislike of ME people, I guess that could be problematic. I never saw anything outright rude towards folks like Hans Bulvai from CS, so I can't really have an informed opinion, other than saying I've had to deal with certain posters being outright hostile to the military, and being put in the awkward position of pretty much just ignoring those threads even if I wanted to say anything. Mr. P faces all kinds of hostility and seems to be doing fine.

IMVVHO I think Cincinnatus is giving good advice.

On the one hand, if you think a pic is DANGEROUS, you are doing a great service by warning.........

But the subject is sooooo black magic that delicacy is sometimes essential when trying to warn of it:

I hope you will continue to post at On the Nature of Things but if you switch back to Diagetics, I will try to check in here too just as I do at the Spengler Forum..... As long as Tinker is willing to maintain this as an active board............

Col. Sun is IMVHO a good guy ...........

Sometimes good people end up fighting.............. Could happen soon...........
