He also suggested writing down the ethical boundaries they would never cross, such as, “I will never lie, cheat, steal.”

It’s important to think all this through before something like an unexpected market free fall demands compromises. “These events happen in a nano-second,” Kaplan said.

A few other thoughts you wouldn’t expect from a former Goldman Sachs guy.

• It’s time to raise taxes on the rich, even rich guys like him. This won’t hurt most of the small businesses with the best potential to create jobs since most are under the $250,000-a-year income threshold for tax increases. “If you carve out doctors, dentists, law practices and investment partnerships, I think you’ll find there’s not many small business left” making more than $250,000, Kaplan said.

• It’s time to rescue the nation’s overleveraged, under-employed and foreclosure-stricken middle class. “The engine of a country is its middle class,” Kaplan said. “You show me a growing middle class, and I’ll show you a growing country and a healthy financial sector.”[/quote]

I don't know. A lot of those Goldman guys are Harvard Democrats. My experience would be that they all talk like this but then act otherwise.

In fact I saw this in a movie once, "Jerry MacGuire". Liberals, and their dysfunctional emotions about money. I don't know what to do with them.

for people that arent interested in money many lefties sure spend alot of time dick sizing against those that do care about money.....oh its not fair, i dont have as much as those that have dedicated their lives to acquiring money.

im totally lefty when it comes to food,water, education and housing .. get beyond that and it all starts reeking of lazyness and jealousy.

the lefties in my country are just as bad as the righties when it comes to protecting *their* house prices and *their* education investments and *their* right to not have risk from undesirables in *their* suburb.

cant tell the difference between left/right looking at their behaviours, it only comes out when they talk politics.

how about tackling the price of housing rather than trying to get the less well off into mansions, how bout spending more of the existing tax money on the needy rather than massive government departments to study and socially engineer the needy, how bout maintaining libraries with free internet and plenty of access to it as a priority, how bout reducing the amount of licenses and paperwork to get a job, how bout giving even more tax cuts to industries that provide on the job training.

Noddy, for me, it is more about whether or not some people are left behind by the system. People who have little trouble quantifying the value of their relationships do better than those who are not so quantitative.
