PLEASE NOTE 2007 DATE ON ACCURATE INTEL

Bin Laden likely lives in comfy safehouse, intel experts say

BY JAMES GORDON MEEK DAILY NEWS WASHINGTON BUREAU

Sunday, September 9th 2007, 4:00 AM

WASHINGTON - Osama Bin Laden isn't hiding in caves. He's almost certainly living in a cozy compound in Pakistan guarded by a few loyal fanatics, a dozen terror experts and intel officials told the Daily News.

The group of veteran Bin Laden hunters say the cave-dwelling myth is one of many tall tales about the Al Qaeda kingpin, including reports that the renegade Saudi is dying of kidney disease.

Six years after the 9/11 attacks, many Americans don't understand why he's so hard to find and kill. Frustrated agents say he skulks across some of the most hostile terrain in the world and that Pakistan refuses to let U.S. troops chase him there.

The futility of efforts to permanently silence Bin Laden was brought home Friday when he released his first video message since 2004, a 26-minute, anti-U.S. diatribe.

In the jagged peaks of the Afghan-Pakistani border, a good Bin Laden hideout typically would be a simple adobe house surrounded by a high mud-brick wall - perfect for defending a monster.

"He's probably not living in a cave," said Robert Grenier, the ex-CIA Pakistan station chief who helped topple the Taliban after 9/11 and chased Bin Laden afterward.

"He's probably living in a fairly comfortable, though Spartan, compound somewhere in northern Pakistan," Grenier said.

All of those interviewed by The News - including several top intelligence officials with the highest security clearances - agreed.

President Bush and Vice President Cheney long perpetuated the legend that Bin Laden was living in a cave to support their claims the terror mastermind had been neutralized.

But since he escaped his Tora Bora mountain lair in late 2001, experts say Bin Laden likely has stayed put in a new hideout with a tiny band of die-hard bodyguards, not an army of them.

"He's probably not moving a lot - if ever," Grenier said.

some more details of the bigger picture

from http://www.himalmag.com/vacancy/4448-go ... opter.html

Although the role of the ISI remains murky, to look at it in a simplistic ‘with or against the US’ binary would be a folly. The agency is notorious for being self-serving, and primarily looks after what military analyst Dr Ayesha Siddiqa famously described as the ‘milbus’ (military business complex) in her book, Military, inc. Moreover, the agency continues to see the concept of ‘strategic depth’ in Afghanistan – through ‘assets’ such as Al-Qaeda – to be an important aspect of Pakistan’s security and foreign policy. It sees this strategy as a ‘counter’ to what Pakistan’s military and intelligence establishment refers to as India’s policy of ‘encircling’ Pakistan by increasing the former's influence in Afghanistan. That this myopic strategy has done little other than wreck havoc in both Pakistan and Afghanistan is, however, a fact that Pakistan’s establishment is yet to come to terms with.

During discussions with this writer, bin Laden’s former neighbours repeatedly described the neighbourhood as an ‘extremely high-security area’. ‘This is part of the Cantonment, and Army personnel constantly patrol the streets, while snipers maintain lookouts,’ residents said on the condition of anonymity. ‘It is impossible that the Army and intelligence agencies did not know who was living in that house.’

Questions have also been raised about the ownership of ‘Waziristan Mansion’ – the house in which bin Laden was living. The answer seems simple: in cantonments, only the Army owns land. It is then leased to people for specific periods of time. ‘No land transaction here – including leasing of houses – is done without the supervision of the Army,’ an Army Major who graduated a few years ago from the nearby PMA told this writer. ‘I don’t buy this explanation about us not knowing who lived there.’ The Major did not wish to be named either for reasons of safety.

Some news reports have also claimed that the ‘bin Laden compound’ used to be an ISI safe house prior to 2005....

USED TO BE?

IT WAS BUILT TO ISI SPECS AS ISOLATION COMPOUND

Osama was a sex machine who would vanish
into the bedroom with his wife for days'

Osama Bin Laden was a sex machine according to his first wife Najwa bin Laden.

Osama bin Laden used to have sex with his first wife for days on end whenever he came back from waging Jihad.
The former Al Qaeda leader would vanish into his bedroom with Najwa bin Laden upon his return and not come out until they had properly reacquainted themselves.

Najwa was the first of six wives of bin Laden and married him at the age of 17. They had ten children together but divorced before the 9/11 attacks. She was interviewed by U.S. investigative reporter Jean Sasson for her biography but the journalist yesterday revealed details which have not come out before.‘When I asked Najwa what her favourite time of day was, she admitted that it was "the sleeping time",’ Sasson said.

She added that Najwa was not referring to actually going to sleep but ‘that’s when he (bin Laden) was giving her all his attention’.‘Omar (her son) said that when he was a child, Osama would come home from Afghanistan and take ajwa into the bedroom and they wouldn’t come out for days,’ she said.At the time of bin Laden’s killing, he was living with three later wives in a compound in Abbottabad in Pakistan where it has been reported that U.S. soldiers found herbal viagra.

Sasson said she ‘wouldn’t be surprised’ at all if that were true.‘He had a younger wife, plus two other wives there. I remember that on the day a clinic opened in Saudi Arabia for men who were impotent, cars lined up through Riyadh waiting.

‘And most of the men were elderly, and they were very concerned because they had four wives, and they said they could only do it twice a day. Some of these men were, like, 80.

There is going to be a whole Hitler-in-the-bunker genre of OBL fandom, with people obsessing over his known human activities contrasted with his public notoriety and crimes.

Pakistan Arrests CIA Informants That Helped Us Find Bin Laden

6/14/11

Pakistan officials arrested five C.I.A. informants it says helped aid the U.S. in tracking down and killing Osama bin Laden. One of the five arrested? A Pakistani Army major who apparently copied the license plates of cars seen driving in and out of bin Laden's Abbottabad compound.

In the weeks since bin Laden's death, the U.S. has been less than thrilled with Pakistan's support; deputy C.I.A. director Michael J. Morell rated its level of cooperation a three out of ten. And Tuesday's arrests are seen as another illustration of the growing distance between American and Pakistani priorities, and differing ways of going about fighting Al Qaeda.

Basically, there's a rumor that some more organic successor to night vision goggles may have been worn by the team that took down Bin Laden.

.

Imagine living with 3 wives in one compound and never leaving the house for 5 years ...

Probably Bin Laden called the U.S. Navy Seals himself
