yer, complicated money trails of secondary and tertiary outcomes - see "trickle down economics" and the specifics of if a resource company employs local workers and improves local infrastructure

maybe ethical, maybe gets good outcomes, not a charity... and the truth is they wouldnt have raised any eyebrows if they did exactly what they did currently but didnt use the word "charity".
im not the only ill educated idiot that expects a charity to behave like an, ermm, charity. (for want of another word)
