Like Tunis, another 'revolution' needs to take place. It should be anytime now since the high of the Egyptian people's victory is still in the air to make sure attention is diverted from what really is going on after the jubilation is over. Facade changes.
My take anyway.

Ah, but there is a . The military there have experience of democracy being in danger of producing the "wrong" result - and the subsequent atrocities committed by both sides, but especially the Islamists, left a people who do not want to risk a repeat. Algeria is much more likely to produce a Tien An Men response than a "Velvet Revolution" (not to mention French meddling, likely to be tougher and more competent than American, and not hamstrung by any ethical considerations...)
Pessimism is the soft option.
