Some aspects of Sharia law SHOULD be illegal, particularly as it relates to marriage law.

It's not Islamophobia. It's just a recognition that Sharia shafts women who are in abusive relationships, stripping them of ALL rights.

Cut the pretense. There is a long and well-documented history of Sharia arbitration shafting women. Theoretically women can put whatever they want into the contract, but the Sharia court made up exclusively of men nearly always rules against the woman's interests.

The point of "Islamophobic" propaganda is to make Sharia law an issue at all, when in fact it is not. There isn't substantial support for implementing Sharia law among theIslamic cumminty itself, let alone any chance of making it legal within those communities, and we are so far from the Robert Spencer/Daniel Pipes fantasy of Sharia being imposed on the American or European population as a whole that I think anybody seriously considering that should be dismissed from the discussion as a fool.

What we are looking at is a successful propaganda effort that has had some traction, that is all. Think tanks and study groups and all sorts of web-based organization exist and are fed money by political interests to spread a certain message. The fact that people who make a living spreading fear and hatred against Muslims were paid to do so by groups or individuals that fear or hate Muslims surprises nobody. Its the same as any other lobby or PR campaign.

I am not talking about in Iran. I am talking about what happens in the West when people 'submit' to Sharia dispute resolution.

yeh its only muslims that have partisan groups saying nasty things about them and muslim groups never rant and rave about evil godless others.

never heard an atheist progressive groups get all hyperbolic nasty about conservative christians.. nononono.. never heard a conservative christian groups all frothing at the mouth about evil atheists nonononono.. never heard the right wing call the left wing nasty names or vice versa.... its all just one big cuddle session of mutual loving when the muslims arent involved... just look at the wonderful caring conversations between amos and mr p.. respect oozing everywhere.

actually... the only 2 groups that escape the worst of the abuse are certain feminist and jew groups because they play the victim card so hard, and that just means they get left out of most arguments because people cant be bothered tip toeing around the fragile sensibilities... smile and nod and treat them like a delicate ole granny, hasnt the weather been nice.

if you really want the muslims in that refined grouping then be my guest... you might have to back off on the lizard theories, i suspect some would find that hurtful.

as for sharia and indulging certain cultural attitudes towards seperating men and women ... im totally against it and will gladly be phobic if thats what its called...

Well it is not like Muslims are targets in most airports for searches (more than others because they dress 'like the enemy'), hate crimes against them have increased considerably and every aspect of their life has been demonized and is under the microscope. How many innocent anyone has been tortured compared to an innocent Muslim? To be honest though, I believe that they (the mooslimes) are just the excuse to have the same done to everyone that's why Mr. Perfect's suggestion of profiling will fall on deaf ears.

You don't agree with separating men and women? Fine, you are of course entitled to your opinion. As long as it is not being asked that it happens in a mall near you and it PASSES, what do you care if it happens in mosques or other places of cultural gatherings?

Actually, I bet you 9 out of 10 men in the West would love that rule when it comes to watching the ball game or fights!
