It's true. Obama being a second Bush has really made it horrible. We elected him with a mandate to be very different from Bush, and yet he followed in his predecessor's footsteps. It's very sad.

Azari, Obama was supposed to be at least somewhat different, but he wasn't.

im aware enough of american politics to know that petrol prices are one of the hottest topics, i wouldnt go getting too carried away with the american people being against the current approach.
maybe they dont wont to know how the sausage is made but they love the sausage.

MR P HAS SEEN THE LIGHT
WHEN HE SAYS
""Well liberal Democrats, it appears the Obama thing fizzled, and we must now pull the plug on him. I mean, US less popuar under Obama than Bush? Think of the terrorism you're creating with this Obama fellow. Sad I know, but there comes time to face facts. Obama created enough new terror threats to make sexual assault a domestic security policy, with this much new terrorism coming down where do they go next? We may have to go mormon, I heard some people say Islam is very close to mormonism. I wouldn't know, just heard.
Time for something new. Time for a change."
ABSOLUTELY
THE "TWO "PARTY SEESAW SCAM IS AS MR P POINTS OUT POINTLESS
A THIRD CITIZENS PARTY IS WHAT'S NEEDED DESPERATELY NOW
that accepts money only from people not legal fictions
and dedicated to citizens not the corporations
that have gutted this country

id rework that "smaller and more localised" - corporates are a sympton not a cause.
sure you need a FED, but only some much that the locals actually agree on... both australia and america only got the authoritarian FED via ww2 - we had proper independant states where the people could actually affect their governments before that.
doesnt stop bad shit happneing but you do avoid the one disease affecting all, you can move states and avoid the willfully stupid ones rather than having it inflicted on all.

interesting approach
free market competition for internal politics....
and secession as final solution?

i dont believe in final solutions, me - you - everyone is prone to symbols going out of control and stupidity.
more variation, more options, more chances of waking up and avoiding nasty outcomes.
besides, what does multiculturism mean.. we surely dont agree on everything yet their is an implicit "but we do" in all authoritarianism of both the left and right forms... for me its down to the basics we do agree on, magority means 80% not 51%.

so i understand...
should these domestically sovereign political subunit.... state/province..... decisions trump central govt?
does that include secession?

.
IMVHO, issue in American foreign policy is ,
America in " reaction mode "
reacts to (fast) shifting geopolitical realities
lagging, not leading
America needs a pro-active, new thinking, new world .. counter conventional wisdom .. new foreign policy for the NEW WORLD
ahead
America still following cold war era foreign policy
.
