CRITICAL THINKING 101

in light of the truths revealed above, shouldnt the question be why?

Even romans at the height of degeneracy knew to ask "Cui Bono?"

The hidden agendas that operate out in the open

in places like AfPak are meant to generate continuous conflict.

WAR IS GOOD

not for very many...

but for a few ....

it supplies the blood

only they know how

to turn into wine.

not gallo or blue nun or mogen david

but the thousand dollar a bottle and up kind.

as Major General Smedley said EIGHTY YEARS AGO...

BEWARE OF VENTURES THAT COUNT PROFITS IN DOLLARS AND LOSSES IN LIVES.

EIGHTY YEARS AGO AND IT STILL HASNT REGISTERED

SLOW LEARNERS...

QUAGMIRES REVISITED:

from the washington pest cited above:

Since the 101st Airborne Division arrived in eastern Afghanistan in June, its troops have killed about 2,500 people, compared with about 1,500 in the same period the previous year, said Maj. Gen. John Campbell, the top commander in eastern Afghanistan.

(ECHOES OF OTHER FAMOUS BODY COUNTS?)

Konar, in particular, has been extremely violent.

"That's been our most kinetic area," Campbell said in an interview this month. "We've dropped over 900 bombs since we've been here, and probably greater than 50 percent has been up there. We've fired over 30,000 artillery rounds, mortar rounds, and much of it has been up there."

(doesnt sound like a good hearts/minds tactic..thats a lot of kinetics...)

The residents, long accustomed to living in essentially ungoverned territory, have fought to keep foreign forces out.

"They're in extreme isolation," Brig. Gen. Stephen Townsend, a senior Army official in eastern Afghanistan, said of parts of Konar. "They just don't want us there."

HELLO

THIS IS NEWS?

so on one hand apache gunships replace soviet hinds...

It's amazing that we think that bombing people living in a backwater will discourage them from trying to kill us.

I don't know what kind of insanity brings that on. Well...I think I do know. It's intentional. It's part of Lockheed Martin's ad budget. Stir up a hornets nest, get them to hate us and attack us so that we can create a market for killing them.

Karzai: Civilian death apologies aren’t enough

Afghanistan’s president on Sunday rejected a U.S. apology for the mistaken killing of nine Afghan boys in a NATO air attack and said civilian casualties are no longer acceptable.

According to a statement from his office, Hamid Karzai told Army Gen. David Petraeus, the top commander of coalition forces in Afghanistan, that expressing regret was not sufficient in last week’s killing of the boys, ages 12 and under, by coalition helicopters.

NATO has also apologized for the mistaken killings. Civilian casualties from coalition operations are a major source of strain in the already difficult relationship between Karzai’s government and the United States, and they generate widespread outrage among the population.

“President Karzai said that only regret is not sufficient and also mentioned that civilian casualties during military operations by coalition forces is the main reason for tension in relations between Afghanistan and United States,” the statement said. “It is not acceptable for the Afghan people anymore. Regrets and condemnations of the incident cannot heal the wounds of the people.”

The killing of the nine boys took place March 1 in the Pech valley area of Kunar province in eastern Afghanistan.

Army Lt. Gen. David Rodriguez, who directs day-to-day operations of coalition forces across Afghanistan, later issued a video statement of apology.

In the video, Rodriguez said troops at a base in the valley were responding to a rocket attack and dispatched attack helicopters to the location they were told the rockets came from. He said the helicopters thought they were engaging insurgents, but it later turned out they were boys from a nearby village who were cutting firewood.

you wont see this on the evening news...

Protesters demand end to US role in Afghanistan

KABUL (NNI): Hundreds of Afghans held a massive protest against the United States in the downtown area of Kabul, demanding an end of the U.S. role in Afghanistan. Holding banners "Permanent US military bases equals permanent slavery of Afghan people", "Occupation equals killing plus destruction" in their hands, the protesters shouted "Death to America" as they marched on the downtown street.

"The involvement of the US government in Afghanistan, that has a long history of cruelty, has not improved conditions in the country, but increased corruption, poverty, murders, poppy cultivation and trafficking," says the pamphlet handed out by the Solidarity Party of Afghanistan, the organizer of the protests. Hangama, one of the organizers, told Xinhua, "Our aim is to condemn the civilian casualties caused by U.S. troops here in Afghanistan and we don't want the American presence in our country. "

The protesters called for an end of the U.S. role in Afghanistan and strongly condemned the U.S. intention to establish a permanent military base. "As the United States wants to establish a permanent base in Afghanistan, we call on our people not to allow the U.S. to occupy our country, not allow the Karzai government to sign the shameful agreement," said Hangama. Women and even children were among the protesters, while a great number of policemen were on high alert in case of security incidents.

At its climax, the protesters burned U.S. President Barack Obama's effigy, shouting "Down with the U.S." Azada, a woman protester said, "Today we demonstrate here to condemn the civilian causalities caused by the U.S forces and Taliban in our country. We want American troops to stop killing the innocent person, the children and the women."

OBAMA'S FATAL ERROR IN AFGHANISTAN

....counterinsurgency guru Gen. Stanley McChrystal, the commander of NATO forces in Afghanistan, reportedly wanted to double down on the war with a surge of as many as 50,000 troops. Karzai's aides told me they trusted McChrystal; the general seemed to truly understand the Afghan leader, deferring to him in decision-making and treating Afghan criticism of U.S. military tactics with respect and thoughtfulness rather than rejecting it out of hand.

When I met with McChrystal in Islamabad in early 2010, I was taken aback by his understanding of the Afghan environment. That this austere former special-operations commander understood how to demonstrate his respect for Afghan dignity and sense of sovereignty while still largely getting his own way was a revelation.

Early on, McChrystal persuaded Karzai to travel around the country with him in an effort to enhance both U.S. and Afghan government prestige. The enduring picture of McChrystal in Afghan eyes is of the most powerful U.S. military officer in the country humbly sitting cross-legged on a carpet at Karzai's feet while Karzai addressed tribal elders. When McChrystal was forced to resign in June over his comments about top U.S. civilian officials in a Rolling Stone article, Karzai begged the White House not to sack him.

IF TRUE AS Alleged:

These man have disgraced the uniform they wear and brought great shame to the country they have not served but done great disservice.

They must be severely punished under the provisions of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

There is no time or place for such wanton acts of depravity in any US military area of operations.

The designation "kill team" is way wide of he mark.

These were unprofessional idiots out of control and out of the bounds of human decency.

THE OFFICER IN CHARGE HERE SHOULD BE IN THE DOCK WITH THEM

with impossibly inadequate apologies to the afghan peoples
