the incredible narcissism of sarah palin

I do facebook. I am originally from a very conservative part of the world. I have spent a large part of the day talking with two friends in North Carolina. One writes white papers for a conservative think tank. The other is a teacher and the wife of a farmer and an official in the county GOP. They don't know each other, yet they both, more or less, said the same thing, which amounted to this. They were shocked by the narcissism and complete lack of anything resembling empathy from Palin. One even suggested that Mary Shelley could not have created such a cold monster.

Amos, Palin got sucker punched within hours of the shooting. I'd be pretty pissed.

I haven't seen her video as I make a point if not listening to her In order to preserve what sanity I may retain. However , the very mention of " blood libel " indicates only - and I do mean only- one of two possibilities. One , she is making an intentional gauntlet throwing maneuver in the direction of a few particular fan bases , or two , she is a combination of phenomenally oblivious and blinding narcissistic. There is absolutely no sense , none at all , in bringing ip something like that unless you are stupid or trying to make a point.
If there is another possibility , it eludes me.

nothing surprising for me in either
(a) the group bonding excercise that hatin palin seems to be
or
(b) the lack of ability in palin to speak to beyond her demographic
however one thing is becoming obvious, she is not narcissistic - it IS all about her!

It is clear now that the left is full of despicably evil blood libeling people.

Excuse me? So with no actual violence from the right, we still consider the right more violent? How does that work?
Speaking of inflaming rhetoric, as if rhetoric is now violence, were you aware of a movie wherein GWB was assassinated, defended as free speech by the left?

Sarah Palin accused of complicity in a murder, death threats surge. Who is really directing the hate speech?

Of course Sarah Palin's church was already attacked by an arsonist. Wonder who the arsonist voted for. These days whatever "makes sense" is what you go with.

And of course the Marky Mark movie wherein the hero executes a Republican Senator who supports the Iraq War by shooting him point blank in the face as the movie's climax.
Reaction from the left?

TI, a Democrat congressman called for the murder of a Republican, just last election. You can read about that here:
http://washingtonexaminer.com/blogs/bel ... and-shot-n"That Scott down there that's running for governor of Florida," Mr. Kanjorski said. "Instead of running for governor of Florida, they ought to have him and shoot him. Put him against the wall and shoot him. He stole billions of dollars from the United States government and he's running for governor of Florida. He's a millionaire and a billionaire. He's no hero. He's a damn crook. It's just we don't prosecute big crooks."

Then there are the golden oldies. Alec Baldwin, hardcore Democrat, potential seeker of office.
http://hotair.com/archives/2009/09/11/p ... gh-school/"I am thinking to myself in other countries they are laughing at us twenty four hours a day and I’m thinking to myself if we were in other countries, we would all right now, all of us together, [starts to shout] all of us together would go down to Washington and we would stone Henry Hyde to death! We would stone him to death! [crowd cheers] Wait! Shut up! Shut up! No shut up! I’m not finished.
We would stone Henry Hyde to death and we would go to their homes and we’d kill their wives and their children. We would kill their families. [stands up screaming] What is happening in this country? What is happening? UGHHH UGHHH!!!!”"

TI, apparently now if you make a target over a state you are one step removed from a murder. Apparently someone on Sarah Palin's staff produced such a map.
So, Sarah Palin is now a one step removed murderer.
But, a problem.
The Democrats actually have produced two such maps. So wouldn't we say the Democrats are twice as murderous?

Now, fuse these maps and their heritage in Democrat thought, marry that with Obama's current call to his followers to bring guns when they "fight" Republicans:
http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2008/06/1 ... ing-a-gun/“If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun,”
Maybe that is just how they do things to Republicans in Chicago.

We now know that this kook was a 9-11 truther, 911 truthing being the domain almost completely of Democrats and liberals by the polls. Few indies and GOP here and there, but not much to speak of.
Apparantly this guy really like this movie "Zeitgeist", which is some kind new Marxism

TI, you may not be aware of this, but the local sherriff actually has blamed Rush Limbaugh and the Republican Party for the shooting.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCsPvWGJLBcProblem being that this sherriff actually missed 5 previous attempts to catch this guy.
"Dupnik said there had been earlier contact between Loughner and law enforcement after he had made death threats, although they had not been against Giffords. He said the authorities believe he may not have been working alone."
http://biggovernment.com/publius/2011/0 ... d-nothing/Now some months ago Obama singled out a policeman for "acting stupidly" when arresting a personal friend of his, quite a bit hasty there, had to beer summit it out.
Now after this Democrats sherriff blames the GOP for complicity in murder, and misses arresting him 5 times, what does Obama do? Condemn him for acting stupidly? Condemn him for blaming innocent people for complicity to a murder? Condemn him for failing to prevent this when he had a number of opportunities? Remember, Democrats are big on preventing murders (see Bush/911 but not Clinton)
No.
He calls him up and thanks him.

See , this is the hell America is in right now. No matter what you want to do , in whatever issue you propose movement , somewhere someone has shown themselves to be incompetent or crooked in handling the thing . This bit on violent rhetoric may well be an important issue. But if so , Democrats are , as I think Mr P is pointing out uncomfortably well, the last people in the US to raise it because of past sins. so we as a nation continue to do the only thing that is guaranteed to fail - the same old , only more so.
Gentlemen , some day when you are sitting around the burning hulk of a Miata , roasting the last chunk of Gypsy you have , I want you to look back at what old DoU said and smile with some chagrin. " He said we'd be wipin' with sandpaper, and I laughed...".

Wait, you guys, I'm missing the part where...
...Palin was sucker punched with allegations that SHE was "responsible" for this.
Whether it is smart to break Jefferson's rule not to respond to either praise or slurs -- being "responsible" for the shooter going over the edge is a very serious charge.
