Hope for the American Senate?

Senator Tom Udall is considered very controversial for suggesting that the Senate should follow the constitution!

The Constitution provides a clear way to fix Congress when it isn't working. Article I, section 5 of the Constitution states that "each House may determine the Rules of its Proceedings." The Senate must act on this duty and review its rules at the start of the next Congress.

At the start of the 112th Congress, I will make a motion on the floor of the Senate to take up and adopt its rules by a simple majority vote.

Problem being is that if this is ever passed the New Deal is finished.

Ending the filibuster in the US is something that comes up every few years, but nothing ever happens because both parties make use of it when it suits them.

As I'm not an American citizen, it doesn't matter to me one way or the other. I'd think Americans would support or oppose it depending on whether or not they wanted their government doing more or less.
