I have a high enough opinion of the military to respect that they have an opinion that is as valid as anyone else's, maybe more so because they see things first hand.

I only stated a fact, that the military is full of conservative Republicans who have supported the war throughout it's duration. I made no conclusions based on that, nor did I use it for any justification.
