Nah, I think Obama screwed up royally on a number of points. Virtually everything to do with foreign policy has been terrible. Human rights, worse than Bush. Domestic financial policy, horrible. Don't care about stimulus and unemployment and bleh bleh bleh- the fundamental philosophy of handling an economy like that is boned. Had a chance to change a good bit of that and didn't. What he calls a victory, what policy analysts call a victory, is either insult to injury or tits on a boar hog.

I can come up with a handful of things I think he has done that I like , if pressed. But by and large, no. He was indeed handed a shit sandwich, but he has done little to improve it. It is no doubt largely the fault of the turn of events, but he has not acquitted himself well.
Don't know what it is, but I'm agin'it.

The canary didn't die because this mine is dangerous, it died because it's lazy and wasn't raised with a proper work ethic.

We will probably have to agree to disagree on most of this, and I am not going to bother actually defending either of the two evils. I have to vote against myself to vote for myself when I try to work with either party. I voted for Republicans in Florida because I am convinced they will kill the bullshit virus faster by flooding it with idiocy antigen.

In reality, opinions on Obama are kinda like my opinion on dueling with flintlock pistols- no matter what I think, shooting at ten paces isn't going to work in the world as it is. Neither are the mainstream plans.

At the end of the day, I think we agree that both parties are on the wrong track.

Oh my! I did not know you didn't understand the graph! Sorry about that! Of course the longer you don't understand that the better for me and the GOP, so I think I will keep quiet.

I don't mind when someone wants to blame Obama for not having the answers to fix the problems, but then don't try to sell me on voting for the party that broke it in the first place, who are selling the exact same message they were selling then.

I am looking through the GOP election material and can find no reference to building up the subprime mortgage market. Perhaps you can post that for us?

Did you know that the subprime market was created by regulation, not by deregulation? Did you know that? Did you know Freddie and Fannie are actually regulators and regulated? Are you aware of that?

You may learn some truth here, but it seems you are not in the truth business:

I'm afraid this is indeed a case where there were people saying it was all about entitling people to houses that couldn't afford it. Of course, then the banksters went right along with it, because it was a great way to get new money out of people that were previously too small and unworthy to leach of of, and when ( not if) they couldn't repay, they got foreclosed. House goes to new schmuck willing to pay the stupid prices and everybody is happy, because house prices can be elevated forever, amirite?

Maybe not.

The banksters were doing exactly what the regulators wanted them to do. Exactly. How would deregulation be the problem if the regulators signed off on the whole thing?
