Gary Johnson Condemns FAMiLY Leader Pledge As ‘Promise To Discriminate’

Republican presidential candidate and former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson spoke out over the weekend against the FAMiLY LEADER’s “marriage vow” that rivals Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) and former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA) have already signed. Arguing that “government should not be involved in the bedrooms of consenting adults,” Johnson condemned the pledge as “unRepublican” and a “promise to discriminate“ saying:

"This ‘pledge’ is nothing short of a promise to discriminate against everyone who makes a personal choice that doesn’t fit into a particular definition of ‘virtue’.
While the Family Leader pledge covers just about every other so-called virtue they can think of, the one that is conspicuously missing is tolerance. In one concise document, they manage to condemn gays, single parents, single individuals, divorcees, Muslims, gays in the military, unmarried couples, women who choose to have abortions, and everyone else who doesn’t fit in a Norman Rockwell painting."

I don't understand why self-identifying libertarians have chosen for the last thirty years or so to work through a party, who since its founding, has never been "libertarian-friendly." It is to a point where there is either going have to be a national reformation of party formats with the libertarians forming their own networks, or the realization that libertarian ideas and values have not the popularity to seriously have a say in running the federal government; in which case, should tell it's adherents that they must stop being so lazy and start laying groundwork so they can speak with more authority for generations to come.
