Obama's internals are falling apart.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/07 ... z1TDdLFNGa

President Barack Obama is losing support from his base, according to a new Washington Post/ABC News poll released on Tuesday that finds his backing from liberals and African-Americans has plummeted.

The percentage of liberal Democrats who strongly support the president’s job policies has dropped in the past year, from 53 percent to 31 percent, the poll shows.

The falloff among blacks is even more stark: From 77 percent supporting his record on the economy last year to just over 50 percent in 2011.

good

maybe Bernie Sanders suggestion for a primary opponent will bear fruit.

maybe somebody outside the professional political class

not one of those bought and paid for functionaries that

both parties favor, especially the current Reactionary Party puppets....

a ross perot type maybe

or a ralph nader type

a man of the people

with his own Field and Stream subscription

instead of Food and Wine billed to the people

Who did Bernie Sanders suggest for a primary opponent?

cant read Bernies mind but would bet a buck or two he's pissed at BHO going wobbly on those social programs the crusty old socialist considers inviolate.

but did find this:

"My suggestion is, I think one of the reasons the president has been able to move so far to the right is that there is no primary opposition to him, and I think it would do this country a good deal of service if people started thinking about candidates out there to begin contrasting what is a progressive agenda as opposed to what Obama is doing," Sanders told talk show host Thom Hartmann over the weekend. "I think it would be a good idea if President Obama faced some primary opposition."

Poor Bernie. Obama is "moving to the right" because the country is. The fact that his precious programs are going bankrupt is because they were designed to as all Ponzi schemes are, not because of Obama.

speaking of poor bernie:

The Fed Audit: "U.S. provided a whopping $16 trillion in secret loans to bail out US and foreign banks"

by Senator Bernie Sanders

The first top-to-bottom audit of the Federal Reserve uncovered eye-popping new details about how the U.S. provided a whopping $16 trillion in secret loans to bail out American and foreign banks and businesses during the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. An amendment by Sen. Bernie Sanders to the Wall Street reform law passed one year ago this week directed the Government Accountability Office to conduct the study. "As a result of this audit, we now know that the Federal Reserve provided more than $16 trillion in total financial assistance to some of the largest financial institutions and corporations in the United States and throughout the world," said Sanders. "This is a clear case of socialism for the rich and rugged, you're-on-your-own individualism for everyone else."

Among the investigation's key findings is that the Fed unilaterally provided trillions of dollars in financial assistance to foreign banks and corporations from South Korea to Scotland, according to the GAO report. "No agency of the United States government should be allowed to bailout a foreign bank or corporation without the direct approval of Congress and the president," Sanders said.

The non-partisan, investigative arm of Congress also determined that the Fed lacks a comprehensive system to deal with conflicts of interest, despite the serious potential for abuse. In fact, according to the report, the Fed provided conflict of interest waivers to employees and private contractors so they could keep investments in the same financial institutions and corporations that were given emergency loans.

For example, the CEO of JP Morgan Chase served on the New York Fed's board of directors at the same time that his bank received more than $390 billion in financial assistance from the Fed. Moreover, JP Morgan Chase served as one of the clearing banks for the Fed's emergency lending programs.

In another disturbing finding, the GAO said that on Sept. 19, 2008, William Dudley, who is now the New York Fed president, was granted a waiver to let him keep investments in AIG and General Electric at the same time AIG and GE were given bailout funds. One reason the Fed did not make Dudley sell his holdings, according to the audit, was that it might have created the appearance of a conflict of interest.

To Sanders, the conclusion is simple. "No one who works for a firm receiving direct financial assistance from the Fed should be allowed to sit on the Fed's board of directors or be employed by the Fed," he said.

The investigation also revealed that the Fed outsourced most of its emergency lending programs to private contractors, many of which also were recipients of extremely low-interest and then-secret loans.

The Fed outsourced virtually all of the operations of their emergency lending programs to private contractors like JP Morgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, and Wells Fargo. The same firms also received trillions of dollars in Fed loans at near-zero interest rates. Altogether some two-thirds of the contracts that the Fed awarded to manage its emergency lending programs were no-bid contracts. Morgan Stanley was given the largest no-bid contract worth $108.4 million to help manage the Fed bailout of AIG.

A more detailed GAO investigation into potential conflicts of interest at the Fed is due on Oct. 18, but Sanders said one thing already is abundantly clear. "The Federal Reserve must be reformed to serve the needs of working families, not just CEOs on Wall Street."

There is no question that Bush Cheney Bernanke fully adopted Democrat Keynes doctrine in their last year in office. No question. Did exactly as a Democrat would do, although probably the same stuff but just less of it.

Obama's national numbers are not that good, but his electoral college numbers are even worse. Romney leads in many swing states.

When was the boom again? There was the tech bubble fallout from the previous administration in addition to inherited fp issues and then wars. If you are talking about the RE bubble I don't think that is what Keynes meant by boom.

But I think more to the point, Bush did exactly what the Democrats wanted in the last year. Exactly.

Tinker is entirely right. The Greenspan/Rubin axis made this mess and then ignored the mess it made. I am not sure all the officiants in this axis other than the handlers of the GOP, intended to permanently cripple the middle class, but this was the result. The nefarious and completely unsupported notion that markets are self-regulating (something that Adam Smith warned against) have decimated the middle class. As a last act of desperation the more sane factions in the GOP tried to run into the arms of Keynes after the idiotic supply-siders were in the way for far too long. They remain in the way, in the form of a bunch of AM-talk-radio created boneheads that think they represent the founding fathers. A more completely stupid set of circumstances would be hard to imagine, yet here we are.

I think you keep harping on the self regulating thing because you don't understand what people mean when they say it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Sta ... val_rating

So what you are saying is that Obama's all time low is higher than the all-time low of the majority of Presidents since such polling data has been available? 5 points higher than Reagan's all time low. Interesting. I am actually quite surprised by this.

Thank you Mr. Perfect for quoting facts so dishonestly and inspiring me to look into this. I had no idea that Obama has had such a steady approval rating. I'm surprised that his all-time low is so high.
