So basically what we are saying is that every time any country liberated, we can simply give credit to the United States because our consumers were ready to buy shit from them when they did it?
Is that the 'adult' conversation we're having?
People say we 'held Communism at bay', did we really? Or did we simply make it worse by waging proxy wars in neutral lands and making them hate us thus driving them into the arms of the Communists?
Communism was a purely reactionary ideology, and all we did to 'fight communism' was continue the exploitative policies we started out with. Then when Communism imploded under its own poor economic model, we took credit for it because a Hollywood actor got up at a podium and said, "Tear down that wall!"
Wow America is so awesome that the lives of everyone else in the world are irrelevant, they don't have any power over their own lives, they are just meat-bots that dance around so that Americans can feel good about themselves! If their lives improved at all, it's because AMERICA DID IT!!!
The Cold-War was America perpetuating the British Empire, it was not some ideological war against evil, not anymore than the Great Game was an ideological war against evil.
The canary didn't die because this mine is dangerous, it died because it's lazy and wasn't raised with a proper work ethic.
