Newt Gingrich is really bad at politics. I carried enough water for him after the 1994 election to fill Lake Michigan and all I got was a one way ticket to a prison where I was the soap on a rope boy.

Bill Clinton was a 43% fluke President who got in because of a 3rd party candidate and Newt Gingrich handed him a second term and credit for GOP policies that helped produce a vibrant economy in the latter half of the decade. Newt Gingrich came in on a slate of popular proposals and three years later the whole country thought they were Bill Clinton's proposals even after Bill Clinton tried to veto almost all of them. You have to SUCK at politics to do that.

The guy can't hit anything he shoots at but his own feet or the people on his own side, and then he blames the people he shot at.

And for a conservative he thinks a lot like a central planner, ie he always has a bunch of schemes that make the government "work better". He likes to play with the Rubix cube.

The GOP base has been flirting with each candidate one at a time, and while people have been making fun of this it actually makes sense to me. Take a good look at everyone. Its Newt's turn now, but I think he's got too much baggage. I'm still saying it comes back around to Romney.

Newt's pro-child labor stance just shifted him from the half sane column in to the un-sane column.

There isn't enough recoverable oil in U.S. territory to make the price of oil "collapse" in such a short time, unless Newt plans on making Saudi Arabia the 51st state.

I think Newt has a good chance of getting the GOP nod. He sounds almost as nutty as median GOP primary voters and Romney's arrogance hurts him by making him underestimate his opponents, which is finally starting to hurt him now that he's facing Newt, and he comes across as smug, condescending and arrogant. Mitt can't listen to the other candidates during the debates without smirking. You can get away with smirking at the working stiffs when you're an investment banker chopping a company in to little pieces to sell for scrap, but voters don't tend to like people with smirks glued on their faces. I think I might enjoy watching Republicans reject Mitt yet again after he wastes so much of his own money, even though I think that Newt has a slightly better chance against Obama. If that happens, I think that Mitt is arrogant enough to show up for more punishment in 2016. He could probably buy himself the governorship of Utah, Idaho or Wyoming for what he spends on hairspray; but that's not big enough for Mitt.
